that's sad to hear--I just got it from Angel Gardens and have yet to plant it, I want it to put on size in its gallon pot I transplanted to first before planting. We'll see how it does! I know it was highly recommended by David Austin in his book on Antique and English Roses.

Aaron, how is your garden doing lately?

I have about 20 roses in gallon pots in the "pot ghetto" that I water every other morning--I felt very accomplished for having planted two of them this morning along with two hops plants, four calamints and four phenomenal lavenders (I highly recommend phenomenal to anyone in a cold zone who pines for big, bouffant lavender plants). I also have a resident rabbit that flopped on its side a number of times right in front of me--a sign that they're completely comfortable and not at all worried. I feel like I need to put the fear of man into it so it doesn't eat all my roses! How is yours coming? I'll have to share pictures when I take them :p

Aw, so cute about the rabbit flopping over! I have a baby bunny who is fond of my cutting garden and is getting bolder and bolder when I'm around. I'm lucky that the bunnies here don't seem to bother my plants, they come and eat the clover and grass but that's about it, so it's easy for me to find them cute and enjoy them. My garden is good, I've been thinking a lot about irises ever since you showed me that Etsy shop with so many colors of iris... I have no idea how I'm going to pick just a few.

baby bunnies are adorable so I'm with you there--if it's doing no damage keep it :) as far as irises go I like doing swathes of complementary color--so with my apricot roses I have silverado irises, and with my catmint I have butterscotch orange, and with my pink I have blue irises. I've shoehorned so many plants into the ground that I think they're risking disease from lack of air circulation.....so I may have to *sobs* reduce the number of roses I have. Easy To Grow has a sale on reblooming irises but I'm not 100% how reliably their stuff comes--I was supposed to have ten all white everest alliums to match the two i have....and wound up with ten giant purple alliums instead :p

Every single time I buy a bag of bulbs from the local nursery there is always at least one bulb that didn't belong in the mix. Every. Time.

Also, idk if there are many different kinds, but in early-mid June when roses are finally blooming here, everyone's irises are spent already. Sad face! It would be nice to see them together.
