other than houseplants .... do you have any experience with growing under lights indoors?? .. and how much space do you have.. indoors ...

have a little more time now ...

i have never dont SPV indoors ... but i messed with coleus a few time ...

i took 3 cuttings.. and rooted them into a quart pot .... in early fall ....

i then brought them indoors .. and a month or 2 later.. they got very ugly and leggy ... so i took 3 more cuttings off those .. and when those were rooted ... i threw the old one into a snow bank

as the second set got taller.. i cut them back.. to force branching .... rooted the cuttings .. and gave them another month .. ... now we were getting into mid march or so ... and with my last frost date on late may .. i was ready to propagate volume ... so i would have a nice batch of young vigorous plants to go back outside ....

by early may .. still with weeks to go.. i had a dozen or so pots ... and was really running out of space ...

anyway... its not about the volume you start with .. you need very few... its about how many you end up with.. when its time to go outside ...

and note.. this was all in my ground freeze MI ... so i had a lot of winter to mess around indoors ... it would be different if you are a peep who has 2 months of what you call winter .. and complain about that.. lol ...

Thanks Ken. I'm in central OK. I've never used grow lights but have considered getting some for a few of my houseplants.

It's no big deal if I don't succeed but I'll give it a try. Once they're full of roots I'll put them in potting soil and take it from there.

Right now I'm more concerned about washing the whole cutting in water to rinse off any little bugs that I can't see.
