Hi! I live in Montreal, Canada in a 7 year old house. In March, we noticed springtails in our basement windows and didn't think of them much until I started having some strange symptoms a month or so after. Feelings of being bit on my feet/calves, crawling sensations on limbs and scalp, lots of static electricity on the body, feeling of pop rocks on arms and legs, rashes after showering, unclear skin when I always had clear skin and some other strange stuff. I'm pretty sure my issues are related to the springtails. My physical symptoms are obvious and not psychological. They started making their way into the house after we fertilized and laid down 5 yards of top soil. They are now coming through the patio door and front door on the main floor and I'm seeing them in the bathroom, bedrooms and laundry room on the second floor. Anywhere I put glue traps, I can expect to see some. I have a baby who just started crawling and a 5 year old and am panicking, my anxiety is through the roof as I've always had a bit of a phobia about spiders/bugs. Our house has no obvious mold/moisture issues and we had a professional come in and take air samples. There were very low level of mold spores in the basement, main room and my kids room, compared to outside as a baseline, but no issues detecting with the thermal imaging. We are treating the lawn with dawn dish soap and water sprayed everywhere in the yard but haven't found any obvious nesting spots. Diamesticous earth has been applied and reapplied in the flower beds in the yard and by the doorways and window sills; they are still appearing in almost every room. I kicked off the most intense spring cleaning months ago in our already very clean home and I just can't get rid of them. PLEASE, someone, tell me what to do to treat the outdoors and indoors! I can't live like this!
