Lilies only bloom once a year. It could be that they already bloomed before you bought them. Leave them where they are and they should bloom next year.

Wait another year, lilies are pretty hardy! They could have either been stressed after planting, or you could have missed the blooms.

Yes, wait another year before you pass judgement. I ordered 3 Casa Blanca lilies from on on-line nursery and only one bulb came up, I was disappointed. This summer we found some growing in pots in a local nursery so be bought one and let it bloom on our deck. Several weeks ago we decided to plant the 3 in the pot with the remaining Casa Blanca. Look what we found when we started digging!

These were bulking up under ground..lying in wait to spring forward next year with their lovely white blooms!

So now we have 5 for next season as my husband chopped the remaining planted lily in half with his shovel! We planted the pieces in the ground anyway!

Are Asiatic lilies likely to increase and be possible to propagate by separating them? A friend dug up his last spring and I planted them promptly. Most of them bloomed in early August, huge fragrant flowers. I'm finding it quite exciting! Should I try digging one up in autumn or spring, and planting the little flakes around the bulbs in a new spot?

HCD, if your lilies bloomed in August and were fragrant, they are more likely to be Oriental hybrids rather than Asiatic lilies. Asiatics have an earlier bloom season, are rarely fragrant and deep pink is not a common coloration for Asiatics. If happily sited and well cared for, both varieties will multiply. And without any direct intervention :-)
