what to put on my wall

I am thinking of having a huge abstact art (or a 3pcs) on the wall indicated in the picture. I was thinking of something black, like a black 3 pieces abstract canvas art.

My living room set is off-white. Don't mind the brown sofa currently used as an accent. My accent color is green. So my colors are white, green and silver.
Please suggest. The wall is quite big and can only be seen coming down the stairs

Why would artwork look out of place there? And words wouldn't? Hmmm... I think something like the three rectangular pictures of the dancers would be perfectly fine there. I agree that it will be nice to have something on that wall to enjoy when you're walking up or down the stairs.
Most important thing is that you love what you put on that wall. You should never put something somewhere just to fill an empty space.
Decorating is a very personal thing. Go with what feels good to you.

You know... the thing about art is that YOU really have to love it. If your heart skips a beat (well, that may be an exaggeration) when you see a piece of art, then it could be the one for you. So it is really difficult to suggest artwork to others.
I do like the idea of three pieces there.

I wouldn't put anything on that wall--it's too high--but if I did, to be seen coming down the stair, I think I'd have family photos printed on canvas for that space.

I agree with groveraxle it is too high...draws the eye too far up.....if it were me, I wouldnt put anything there either.

I can see that it is high but I still would fill the space with some thing. I love the family photos on the canvas. I might also use some "wall words" that relates to family. I have on my wall (with the kids school pictures) FAMILY...The most important things in life...aren't things. This might work for you.

How about something meaningful, large, scale, and makes a statement? In a clients' home, we professionally hung a quilt she made in a spot like that. Or, if you would like to exaggerate this architectural detail, you could paint it an accent color. The key in design, is less is more. Great house! Good luck. :) -Purehome Design Team

I was planning to have a 20 pcs photo frames of the family on the upstairs corridor wall going to the bonus room (like this http://www.amazon.com/Brand-Reality-Picture-Photo-Ys7620/dp/B009UOOTLI/ref=sr_1_83?ie=UTF8&qid=1377031784&sr=8-83&keywords=20+pieces+pHOTO+frames) . So family pictures won't work on that wall.
I just thought I'd put something nice for the eyes when coming down the stairs, not to be seen while hanging out in the living room.
Wall words may work. I'll look into it. Any other suggestion is welcomed
I thought of an accent colour too. Like painting it black or another colour

Do you something meaningful? A quilt was mentioned. Or a collection of old musical instruments? Frame up old album covers? Even a meaningful quote...

I don't have a quilt and don't collect anything :-( . Can't think of anything meaningful other than meaningful words...

You could chose some meaningful words and have them made into a decal, or chose a ready-made one -- as long as it is the right size (large enough) for the wall.

I like the idea of words. I think any kind of picture or artwork would look out of place.
