also note the plant between them.. has the same leaf configuration .. go figure.. what is that.. im blanking.. coral bell??? .. uhmmmm.... ok tha id is p.o.ing me.. lol ...

so i might surmise.. the one on the left is getting more light ... and with the amount of white on this plant.. this is important ...

the leaves look proper at soil level.. from what i can see in the pic.. so i dont think its a planting depth issue ...

can you trim up anything around it to get it more light??? .. probably not.. since i seem to recall you long laments about such ...

btw ... i seem to recall i asked you if you ever sold at ann arbor art fair ... but i dont recall the answer ... or i recall the wrong peep..lol ... its this w/e so i thing about who ever the artist among us is ...

As Ken mentions, are all three of these hosta receiving the same amount of sun?

Great Expectations likes to be higher rather than lower. I have learned that it needs some sun to get the best coloring. I have mine in a pot and used to keep it in the backyard where I get dappled and some limited sun. I noticed that, in spring, the center color was more greenish yellow. I've moved my GE pot in the front where it gets some strong sun for about an hour or two. Now the center is a nice bright yellow in spring which I find more attractive.

Initially I had my GE in the ground, but it got little sun. It was when I potted it up and moved it to a location where it got at least a couple hours of sun, that's when it became a beauty. Would you consider potting it up?
