Paint Cleaning Tips

Cleaning painted brick

Our home was painted with San Marco potassium silicate 8 years ago. It has held up very well. We're in the deep south where the humidity it terrible, and there are black streaks running down the sides of the house on the white painted brick. How do I get the black off without stripping the silicate off the brick?

The black may be mold. Have you tried washing the brick using a power washer and plain water?

Why are you getting black streaks running down the sides of the house? Is it just that humid that it's accumulating and dripping down the house or is something else going on?

A powerwashing might do the trick. But if it's something like mold accumulating, you might want to consult with a pro to see if it can be remediated.
