The July photo thread has some fantastic Blue Paradise and I think it is Sue's.

Marie if it makes you feel any better, mine has always struggled too. I‘ve moved it around to try and find it a happy home...it may just end up homeless soon. Ive never had a problem with any other phlox, and I have many. Im not sure what the peoblem is??

I'm sure it was Rouge who alerted me to Blue Paradise. I'll look at the July photos. I've got a lot of other phlox- about 8 others, not all paniculatas. I'm working my way up to just getting rid of the mildewed ones. I just can't keep up with the milk spray or never get started soon enough. Then it's too late.

Marie, do you have other phlox nearby, like pink? Just a thought but my blue phlox isn't nearly as bluish in hot temps, it can be more on the pink side. But when the temp drops to a bit cooler, then the blue appears.

ETA: I should say the "blue tint" appears. You could be mistaken your pink variety(if you have one(s)) for the Paradise in warmer temps.

Hey Marie, my Blue Paradise all started about two weeks ago at least, if not longer. One of the first of mine to bloom. In fact i was just out there deadheading last evening while the other phlox in the garden is all going great guns. I would think you would have seen it by now. Bummer…….

I didn't know you were back here! I saw a purplish flower on a single stem lying flat in the middle of the bed.about 2 weeks ago....I wondered.....I'll dig it up and put it in the "skilled nursing facility" (snf for those in the unfortunate know by experience) Not too surprised.

Thanks for the "local" update. Your dark heucheras are thriving. They may be Palace Purple, not Autumn Bride, but it doesn't matter.

checked again......in the deep shadow of mid border an 8"stalk with one flower of BP is lying down. I'd like to blame a rabbit, but it is just as likely I stepped on it at some point. OTOH, I don't have to take responsibility for there only being one stalk, do I?

Rouge, is that two different phlox, or do the blooms change colors like hydrangeas?

I believe it is just this season that this has happened. That is, there are a few stalks in this very established clump whose flowers are of a lighter colour.. (It may look like more but I think that is due to the light and shade mix).

Either way; still pretty as can be!
