Timeless Majesty had 2 rebloom scapes this year, 1st time I remember that. Still has a few buds left. The bloom looks defective, but has a pod behind it.

Sailor Sky is still going and is putting out a new scape

Drat, going so well posting and I got overconfident

Hakuna Matata may not have the bud count it had last year, but it has multiplied so much. Last year it had 3 scapes with I think 49, 46 and 41 buds I think. This year it had 9 scapes, bud counts so far on 30s on most, but it is still putting out some branches so may come up more.

Problem with HM might be it does not like to let go of yesterday's blooms, I broke off a whole branch trying, so let it go

You do still have a lot blooming for it to be so late in the season. When I posted the Bud King thread, I wondered how your Hakuna Matata was doing this year. It looks like it was a fantastic clump this year. Flamboyant Diva is really pretty! Which one of yours hasn't started blooming yet? My Last Chance for Romance probably won't bloom till August. It just started putting up scapes last weekend. It's crazy late this time. And your Mister Mayor is reblooming? I better start watering mine. I didn't realize it was a rebloomer. Soli deo Gloria looks gorgeous on its last blooms.

Nancy, Soli deo Gloria is my favorite of these. So pretty! I also like Hakuna Matata [where did that name come from?], the one that is supposed to be Indian Ripple, Sailor Sky and Mr Mayor.

Debra, Mister Mayor had 4 fans, 4 original scapes and 2 reblooms, one was instant. Final Frontier is my latest bloomer, way later than anything else I have. Scapes started showing up last weekend, so will be a bit before it blooms. It is tall, large flowers, a very brawny plant. Foliage looks almost like yucca. I have thought about getting Last Chance for Romance. If it blooms the same time as Final Frontier, I definitely need it. FF looks so Lonesome in August.

Thanks Brad. Soli is a favorite. It has 2 scapes with 18 and 21 buds. It has been blooming over a month. Is this what is meant by extended bloom? When they don't rush to bloom out in 2 or 3 weeks.

Lots of blooms still going!! Like Debra, I have seen no rebloom on Mister Mayor and it has been done for some time. Valley Monster looks to be living up to ts name. Gift from Heaven is pretty. And what an edge on Flambuoyant Diva!!!

Brad, not a fan of Lion King?!! Every time I see Hakuna Matata bloom in my garden that song comes to mind!!!

Extended bloom refers to the number of hours a flower is open. To be registered as extended bloom the flower must be open 16 hours or more. The term usually refers to daylilies that open in the late afternoon or evening before their full day of bloom.

Thank you Debra! I have always wondered, but obviously not enough to look it up. I have several listed as extended bloom. I have had an occasional bloom do this, but not consistently. At least not in daylight hours.

Kate, I overlooked you somehow! I always have loved Gift From Heaven, it has done especially well the last 2 or 3 years. I have had Flamboyant Diva for several years, it has a nice ruffle which opens well, although it is not always open early. It is one of those rare Maryott evergreens that has done well here.

You still have so much bloom! i will have to pay more attention to Hakuna Matata, its lovely and such a great performer for you. I love Sailor Sky, such a unique color and a great plant

My post seems to have disappeared from earlier, so I will repeat.........I still like Sailor Sky, and Gift From Heaven is one I don't remember but think is pretty. I also like your purple NOID. Too bad it's a noid, but it's lovely nonetheless..................Maryl

Nancy: Great that you still have a nice group of blooms. I can't believe we are heading into August in the next week. Hakuna Matata is one I like and it seems to love your garden.
