Help with unknown insects destroying my clematis

last modified: 5 years ago

Hello,
My clematis Meghan has both leaves and flowers losing colour and looking damaged. The stems seem fine. Presumably the reason are these tiny yellow creatures, maybe 1 millimetre long and very thin, small enough to be hard to see. They are yellow, and move too fast for worms I think, more like something that has legs. I've attached two photos, you can see some of them e.g. at the tip of the petal at 11 o'clock or one on the midline of the leaf.

If anyone has an idea of what they are and/or what do about them, I would be very grateful for help. I'm entirely new to growing clematis, or much anything for that matter. I got the clematis a couple of months ago, and it's been growing indoors in a self-watering planter.
