Blooming on Friday

The hot weather has departed for a while. I got a little hybridizing done this morning. The seedlings are all tucked in the seedling bed. We managed to squeeze about 2400 in this bed.

Deadliest Catch is blooming now.

Delinquent Doll is another late bloomer that just started.

Explosion in the Paint Factory has very few buds this year.

Much Ado About Magic is a wonderful large flat bloom on a scape about 12 inches high.

Raggedy Man is one of our favorite late bloomers.

Saber Tooth Tiger is a great grower.

Something in My Teeth has finally decided it will grow for us. I thought we had lost it.

I really like the color on this seedling. It is Love All Serve All X (Mary Lena X Crimson Stories).

I really like the edge on this one. It is Phillies Starter X Bullfrog Kisses. Bullfrog Kisses didn't like our garden so I hope this one takes after Phillies Starter.

Bob and I started working with small diploids, especially uf diploid. This is Little Donny Darko X (Fulva cypriana X Unknown). I like the color and the twisty sepals on this one.

Your lates are really nice, I especially like much ado About Magic and Something in my teeth. I like the color on your 1st seedling, and I like the twisty look on the 3rd one.

Wow, now that is a large seedling bed. Can't imagine trying to plant all of that in hot weather.

I like large flat blooms and Much Ado About Magic looks good. Too bad it came up on a short scape for such a lovely bloom. First year?

Seedlings are always a joy to see.

That's a lot of seedlings you and Bob have planted! It will be exciting to see all those bloom in future years. Much Ado About Magic is so pretty - I hope it will have a better plant habit in the future. Raggedy Man is a neat late. I like the first two seedlings a lot! I like the colors and edges on both.

I really like your dmall diploid seedling (the last photo). I like the ruffling edge and twisting. I was also drawn to your Phillies Starter seedling, love that big red edge .

So m uch work in that seedling bed…..I cant imagine keeping track of all of the parentage on them. i sure hope you end up with some beauties!

Just wow on the planting of those seedlings! That truly defines a labor od love!!

I agree with others on Much Ado About Magic. I really like that large flat bloom. Raggedy Man looks very bright. Those first two seedlings have great color.

What a great picture of Explosion in a Paint Factory.......... I like the blended colors on Something in My Teeth. I'd like to see it again next year - if it's willing.....Both of the top two seedlings are looking very pretty, and Delinquent Doll is a pink I'd not heard of before.................Maryl.

I am sure you are making use of Raggedy Man in your hybridizing. It has a lot of tendrils.

Wow! So many seedlings! Much Ado About Magic is so pretty! I am sorry that EITPF didn't do well this year. Mine did great, but my computer died and I haven't posted in a while, and may not post anymore. The computer came early and that was was happy making!. I really like the first two seedlings too.
