Back from Maryland

Came back Sunday from visiting my parents and attending a daylily sale and auction. Came back with way to many daylilies (if there is such a thing). One of my daylily friends was giving away clumps as he and his wife are trying to downsize. I came away from his garden with the following: PHILLIES' PINSTRIPE, HUMUNGOUSAUR, BIG FROSTY, ALPHA AND OMEGA, LADY HAWKE, SPYRO THE DRAGON, VOODOO DANCER, TOPGUNS LAVENDER LACE, DRUM BOOGIE, and more SALTY SKIPPER.

At the sale and auction, I managed to pick up: CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS, TIGRILLO AFTERNOON, SUSQUEHANNA GREAT BALLS OF FIRE, PINEWOOD HOLY KISS, SPARKLING GIANTS, PURPLE CHEETAH, and PINK JEANS (a Bennett that I did not have).

I also visiting another friends garden in York, PA on my way home to New York. His garden was loaded with seed pods. He usually focuses on teeth, but he is also working with patterned dips. I did not come home with any plants from his garden as they all have pods.

Wow, you got some great additions! So envious, I have always liked Salty Skipper but never seen it for sale. Nice to visit with friends and family too.

Sharin the Secret is eye catching with its big yellow center. Someone else on this forum has Pink Jeans and its one I'd like to see again. Salty Skipper is a Bennett that is always liked by those that grow it. Congrats. Will look forward to next years round up.........Maryl

That's a nice group of additions to your garden. Alpha and Omega is hard to get a hold of. I really like the pictures of Emma Tomlinson McHugh. What a delicate beauty!

Nice haul!! And good memory Maryl-I have Pink Jeans. It is a quite lovely and saturated pink. I think it will be a good addition to your collection, David. Now comes the fun part of finding places for them!!

Broken Chains is very consistent and nearly always clean here. I was surprised that Salty Skipper was not in your top 10 list of Bennetts, which is always in revision. It is a delight here.

It may be in my top 10 this year. It seems to have really taken off and seems to be thriving in its new location. I will be working on my Bennett post in the near future with my top 10 rankings.

MOTA did well again this year. It is well branched and loaded with buds. It remains pod and pollen fertile.
