Hex Tile Orientation??

Finally getting the prima dona tile guy to come on Monday to start tiling our kids’ bathroom reno. Aqua glass tile with white grout running horizontally up to ceiling in shower. White hex tile with Black grout going on floor and up wall to the ceiling behind large mirrored medicine cabinet. Just decided to add white tile as half-wall below window and wrap it behind toilet (this is bathroom gor LITTLE BOYS so easy cleanup is critical!) and on lightswitch wall. Fixtures and shower door trim are chrome. Vanity is white with gray/white subtle marblized top. Doorknobs, hinges, and some less permanent accessories will be matte black. Questions:

  1. Are different grout colors going to look odd? I just wanted the aqua to pop as well as the white hex.

  2. Too much tile?? Should I go half-wall all around and not to ceiling behind medicine cabinet??

  3. Critical: Hexagon point facing up or straight edge of hex facing up. I think I like the straight edge? Looking for very clean and modern.

I’d love to hear your ideas. And please post pics too! It’s all so helpful. Thanks!
