Love your cabinets and the wall color. I find the backsplash way too much for me. Plus the colors don’t go well together. I’m not a pro - just giving my first impression. I do agree with PPF that the crown needs to be re-done. It’s awkward.

Like others, I don't think the colors work well together which makes the busyness really stand out.

I also immediately noticed the crown ending in odd spots. That would almost bother me more than the backsplash.

I do really like the paint color.

You don't show the other major element in the room ... your flooring.

I think if you painted your walls the same color as the white background in your backsplash, it might actually tie things together.

Yes it is bold but with your counters, you can certainly get away with it. Most people here are not used to this type of statement backsplash.

I would wait until everything is installed to see if you want to replace it. Don’t be hasty. Right now you are focusing on the last thing that was done.

I don’t mind the wall color with the tile. I see the tiles as a grayish green.

I think it adds interest and texture. When the kitchen is in use, with things on the counter, it will blend in better than now in the bare kitchen. I like it. Since it is in, I would live with it for a while and see if you do like it. You can always change it later. You picked it because you liked it compared to other choices.

I dont think its too busy, but the colors are off. I would probably wait until the kitchen is done, so you can see against the floor, and then reassess. Unlike others, im not in love with the green paint, or at least not with the tile. The green and tile feel like theyre from two different kitchens, and not just color wise. Maybe it looks okay with everything complete, but potentially not…. And then you choose: tile or paint color?

I crave visual stimulation so what others see as busy I think of as music. I like the originality your kitchen offers. I just repainted my similar green walls in a wood and marble kitchen white and it plays better with the greys in my backsplash and counters so if I wanted less stimulation I would change paint not tiles.

I like the backsplash! I think once the appliances are in and the floors showing you will feel more comfortable with it. It is the only element pulling attention right now.

It is a busy back splash but I think it will look nice once the kitchen is complete. I love your paint color but I don’t think it plays well with your backsplash. I think Roarah’s suggestion to paint the walls white is a good one.

The backsplash wouldnt be my choice, but, I think once you get everything all done in there, it will be ok. I agree, with those that said, the wall paint is a big part of what you are seeing. Pick a paint that matches the backsplash, and repaint it, and I think you should see a big difference

I like it. As others have said, see how ot looks when you have everything together.

It looks a bit busy to me now, but I think it will be nice once you get everything in place. The paint color and backsplash don’t seem to blend in the picture, but most of us ate aware that cameras distort colors. The thing that matters is how the colors relate in real life.

I think its a good choice in many ways. Your kitchen is open . you will have stools and a table and appliances yet....maybe runners and area rug or two. the pattern will be part of the mix and nothing is overwhelming other things..... . with plain brown cabinets[good choice] and simple counter option .....whats wrong with having a focus backsplash in the open space ????. You are doing great. dont second guess just keep going . pick cabinet hardware carefully.

I think the crown and your crown molding totally clash - I would remove the white molding as well as the detail over the future stove/hood area - that’s too traditional to go w/ the rest of the transitional / modern vibe. Get some dark hardware and cool counter chairs and you‘ll have a great kitchen.

At first glance without enlarging the pics on my phone, the backsplash appears grey. But when I actually clicked and enlarged the photo, it looks green and does tie in nicely with the paint. Enlarging it made all the difference and I bet it looks even better in person

I like the paint, don't turn it white! (Not a fan of greyscale kitchens.)

What are you planning for the floor? This will help determine how your backsplash plays with your space.

@Katelyn, I love your backsplash! As others have said, once your appliances are in place, it won't stand out so much, but I think it looks great with your walls and the rest of your kitchen. May I ask the color you painted your walls? We are building currently and going with white cabinets/white counters, and a blue/green tile backsplash. Planning on painting the walls SW Sea Salt. So, as you can tell, I am a fan of color and doing something interesting on the backsplash instead of the expected white!

I really appreciate everyone's feedback. We went up to the house again this weekend. After seeing it in person for a second time, I felt so much better about our selections. I plan to post a picture once all is complete.

The scale of the pattern is too big for a backsplash…more so in a wood finish kitchen…visually …all you see is the backsplash….i think it effectively it makes everything look too small…like in a doll house…unless you love it ….at this point it is an easy fix…
