Might look ok as long as you do the right size. You could always cut out some cardboard,

spray paint white and see how you like it. Have you thought about painting the brick a similar color to the siding. I think that would really improve the look.

No shutters. There isn't enough room between the 2 smaller windows for properly sized shutters. The window boxes blend into the brick maybe some brighter flowers would help

Pleasant looking house. Really like usable porches. Nice yard. Probably would not add shutters.

If you are looking to add curb appeal (and budget permitting, of course) you might consider a corner entry with a shallow porch in front of it connecting on its side to the porch you already have on the right-- and, perhaps, even duplicating that porch with one on the left as well or adding a short arbor on the left for symmetry.

I think shutters would be appropriate. They should be properly sized to one half the size of the window, not the frame. I would get raised panel or shaker style. Paint them a deep red, green or white.

Agree with houssaon would definitely not paint the brick. That rendering with shutters doesn't look bad at all -- would likely choose white because of the white window and door trim.

Something else to consider might be to clad the porch post(s) for a bolder more sturdy look.

If there is no cement holding the short row of brick outlining the planting area in place, consider burying a row of brick with only the tops exposed at least where the ground levels outline the planting area for a more smooth look.

Would not add shutters since you have the wide, white trim...very nice. Agree with not painting the brick and beefing up the porch posts.
