Green Rainbow looks really good, wish mine would rebloom. I like Blue Jay Holiday too. Exotic Starfish did not look its best here either, partially because I moved it in the spring, but it was definitely affected by heat. Lots of blooms.

I love your Green Rainbow, a lovely photo of it. So nice to have all that blooming now.

oh yeah….stifling heat.…..last week here in northern Illinois the temperature was 90 and the humidity was 92%. It was opressive for sure and highly unusual.

You still have alot of beauty! Blue Jay Swallowtail is qute interesting! Yep, your granddaughter is sure in the right place! I am giving up on Green Rainbow. It just won't do anything here.

Thanks for the comments on Green Rainbow. It put up more rebloom scapes than first scapes and has ben much prettier on rebloom. Exotic Starfish was beautiful on first bloom but wimpy in the heat on rebloom-can’t complain about it-I have been wimpy in this heat during rebloom season as well!

Brad, I have found that to be true with some plants too. Your Indian Giver and Smokey Mountain Autumn are beautiful but perform poorly here. My granddaughter is 7 and would stay in the pool all day. Not my pool as I am sure you noticed as there are no daylilies in that landscaping!!! :)

We got a reprieve from our heat Friday night with a rain storm. Of course no lemonade is made without the lemons and I went out to find several of my pots blown over and the long nurtured plants smashed to smithereens..............You have quite a nice variety of daylilies. I like Maryott's Total Opulence, and Willa Mae Thornton in particular. Is Mighty Chestnut always this late or are those rebloom scapes?.........Maryl

Very nice group Kate. Green Rainbow is stunning and picture perfect. Your grandaughter has the right idea. Temps finally broke here today but the humidty is stayng. At least we are getting showers to help water the garden. I'm not sure if the excessive heat is causing a lot of the daylily leaves to die back or if they are on NY time.

Oh no, Maryl. That was some wind. Smithereen plants are never pretty! We are in a reprieve of sorts-temps ”only” in high eighties for about a week.

Mighty Chestnut is reblooming. It is really heat and sun resistant. Total Opulence is one of Maryotts that performs well here-best ever performance this year with multiple rebloom scapes.

So many pretty reblooms! I got Blue Swallowtail this Spring, and I never even got a first bloom. Yours is very pretty! With all the heat, your granddaughter has the right idea!

Green Rainbow is a winner! Willa Mae Thorntonis awfully pretty as is Blue Swallowtail. And, off course, I love Rosie! Lovely bunch of blooms in horrid weather. We have had almost two days with no rain!
