Front Yard Privacy

Hi all! My house is relatively close to the street, without a lot of privacy, and I’m looking for suggestions. The front looks straight into my living room and kitchen. It faces west-NW, so vets 4-6 hrs of afternoon sun, depending on time of year. I do like the natural light, a d currently have sheets hanging, but could use a little more privacy especially at night. A friend mentioned getting a dwarf tree to partially block the window. Is this done? If so what kind of tree (zone 5 climate)? I’ve looked into blinds. The main window has good depth, but the sides do not so I would be hanging 3 separate blinds mounted above the window, or just one on the center window (it’s a small ranch with low ceilings). Would love to hear some thoughts on this. Thanks in advance!
