iKea Voxtorp kitchen

👋
I am looking for honest reviews on Voxtorp ikea kitchen, has anyone installed it? How do you like it?
We want to remodel and just in love with integrated sleek beige kitchen cabinets. I want my kitchen to look like on the pic and seems like ikea is the only option in USA. I cook a lot like 3 times a day from scratch, so I need it to be durable, easy to clean. I’ve read and watched so many negative reviews as well as so many good ones about ikea but seems like Voxtorp isn’t been popular, so it lacks opinions. What’s yours? But please based on this one ☝️
Thanks 😘

Hello, I’ve had Voxtorp walnut and beige for about 3 years now and they are holding up great. No complaints at all. We’re a family of 5, with 3 kids under the age of 8 and we cook several times every day. No problems. The fronts are easy to clean. I just wipe them down with a microfiber cloth.

The cabinets looks like they were just installed! Wow!

These are great. Mind you, I’ve never had issues with any fronts from IKEA. I’ve had these, and before that we had the high gloss ones in white. Let me know if there’s anything in particular you want a photo of. Here are some more in the meantime. :)

    Jennifer -

Your kitchen is OUTSTANDING - the attention to detail in keeping everything square and aligned is truly professional as is the way you used all the assessory and trim pieces. Bravo - stunning.

    (and love the backsplash tile!)

Jennifer, I love it! Did you have Traemand(ikea) installed your cabinets?

Jennifer: your kitchen is quite lovely❣️

Janni- aaw wow Thank you!! Had I done it today I would have changed a few things but it works for us and we still like it. We had to make quick decisions after our home flooded during Hurricane Harvey so we missed a few opportunities to improve the design.

Zoriana - no, my husband and I installed all cabinets. It took us about two weeks but we had three kids under the age of 4 including a newborn so we were not super efficient. :)

Jennifer, what do you have for backsplash? Is it time or wallpaper?

Zoriana- it’s tile. Individual pieces. A little tricky in the window area because we wanted to match the tiles as if they had been wrapped around the corners, but it worked out. My tiler cursed me afterwards, lol.

I really just wanted a matte charcoal/black splash and I suppose I could have painted it. But the wall was not in top top shape and I wanted some sort of texture to that area since everything else is flat. But I didn’t want to highlight the pattern so we went with matching grout so the pattern is very subtle.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing with us! The window wrap looks pretty 👍🏻. Haven’t seen anything like it before.

Beautiful kitchen!!! I love it!!!!! where did you get the island chairs?

The island chairs are made by a company started by a young woman in Sweden called By Créa. Everything they do is custom made so you get to select colors and materials for your chairs. They manufactured and shipped to the US in 2-3 weeks. Super easy to order and they took care of everything for me! I am super happy with them.

Jennifer, is the countertop from Ikea as well?

Hello, no it is not. We paired with Cambria Brittanicca.

Jennifer, your kitchen is GORGEOUS! Question: are the wall cabinets Voxtorp as well? If not, what are they? And what pulls did you use for them?

Hi! Thank you! :) Yes the wall cabs are the highgloss Voxtorp in beige. I used pulls from IKEA called Blankett (I think they discontinued these exact ones but they have a new model now called billsbro). I wanted discrete matte black pulls and couldn’t find any I liked that didn’t cost an arm and a leg so I spray painted the IKEA ones. I also sprayed a bit of paint on a q-tip and ‘painted’ the screw head so it’s all black when you open the cabinet.

It looks fabulous! Thanks for all the detail. VERY inspiring. Question: Is Voxtorp fingerprint proof (in your day-to-day experience)? I'm wondering how easy they are to clean and if they do, in fact, leave fingerprints.

Yes, the voxtorp in the colors I have are very forgiving and easy to clean. I looked at the matte white one in the showroom but it appeared more susceptible to showing dirt, streaks etc so we never considered it. That said, it was just my impression, I haven’t seen it in someone’s actual kitchen.

Thanks so much! Those, actually, were the ones I was considering (vs a laminate that's "officially" fingerprint-proof). Will definitely explore a bit more. But in the looks department, love them!

Jennifer, I just stumbled across this thread as I was looking for walnut Voxtorp inspiration - your kitchen is fantastic. Thanks for sharing!

Jennifer, great work on the design. Clean simple lines. Curious on where you got the large format tile flooring? Thanks!

    Thank you so much!

Can anyone tell me if they’ve found edge banding to match Voxtorp gloss beige? I have some cabinets that are showing their white edges and I want to cover them. Thx!

jennifer kitchen looks so nice! can i ask you whats the color of the countertop from cambria britannica?

Rlat: it’s the cooler one. Not the ones called ‘gold’ and ‘warm’.

thanks! jennifer btw how is the voxtorp and ikea cabinetry holding up?

Melissa- they’re holding up great! And they get a LOT of abuse.

wow really? so you dont see any chipping off or the paint/veneer on the voxtorp fronts wearing off at all? do the fronts scratch easily? and how is it with water spillage?

was the cabinetry itself also from ikea too? and did you consider semihandmade fronts at all?

No chips or scratches at all. The fronts I have (beige and walnut) are not painted or veneer but foil. I spill water on them all the time, and sometimes it sits a while in the little sunken area where you pull the drawers and it hasn’t damaged the fronts at all. I used an all IKEA solution, including the boxes. I looked at semi handmade fronts for my bathroom but honestly, I didn’t like their wood options and they really pushed up the price to a point where to me it kind of defeated the purpose of using IKEA base (cost savings vs other cabinets) and they also did not offer cover panels for the bathroom cabinet. ( I think they do for kitchens through). For the bathroom I ended up using something different entirely (porcelanosa /Gamadecor)

Love your kitchen!! Do you mind sharing your white paint color? Thank you!

Hi, our paint is SW alabaster in their line Emerald Matte. I really love the Emerald line, it’s super durable, I wipe it down weekly and it still looks great. It was easy to paint with as well (I did all the painting myself to save some $$$). I don’t love alabaster in our home and would change if I ever repainted.

Jennifer, you’ve mentioned you have the white doors in high gloss. Looking at the store and on the website, I only see the Voxtorp white doors in matte white. Am I missing something or are those the ones you have?

    Hi

They might be discontinued now. Mine are ivory/light beige in high gloss.

Please tell me the name of this worktop, it's it quartz?
