Please Help with window advise

I had windows siding and gutters replaced by a local company. When I asked for a bid I asked for total replacement of windows. They were not the cheapest bud but being local and recommended I chose to go with them. I questioned why the windows didn't fit flush with the wall and was told by the installer that thats how new windows are. When I asked about it the supervisor, who said he'd be on site but I've never met him, told me that the inside trim wasn't included. He said I was told this. I explained that I was told the outside frame would be removed carefully so that could be used if not broken. I thought I would have a window replacement that fit into the space where the previous ones were. After 3 weeks The company gave me an additional costs of
$ 9600.00 to do the interior trim. I've also asked repeatedly for a manual and warranty information on all products installed but never received it after being told they'll get it to me. Please advise.

Uh...no.

What did they look like before? I suggest that you just talk to the owner of the company or engage an attorney.

This is clearly a contractor that doesn't know what he is doing or how, at least, to explain what needs to be done.

Thank you for your response. From the start communication was an issue with me calling to find out what was going on and where we are on the date of ordering and installation. I appreciate your advise moving forward.

What does the contract say? What do the outside of the windiws look like? weather the jamb extions and interior trim are included would depend on the contract. Why would you be worried about the about of the frame being peserved if you got new construction windows? You have a bit more say if you have not paid them yet.

It looks like they insulated the windows with spray foam which is a good thing. If your contract does’nt specify adding new interior trim and extension jambs, the company did nothing wrong here. That means you have to have your interior finished by one of your other contractors who does interior work. Adding new interior trim is NOT part of a window installation unless specified in writing. Assuming it would be or if you though the window company would do it wont hold any water, everything needs to clearly specified be in writing.

I agree that the foam is nice...but look how it was applied on a few of the windows. This does not strike of an actual window installer to be honest. At least not one that cares.
