A good bit of info here: http://localmile.org/cafe/. Most of what is on that page is pretty widely agreed on by most people. The biggest exception is espresso machines that are a much wider variety than discussed and somewhat grinders though that covers the most popular.

Nespresso produces much better coffee than Kuerig but similar problem w/ pods.

Grinders are critical to good coffee and in general the grinders built in to most consumer coffee makers are quite poor (Breville seemingly the lone exception) so there you're better off investing in a separate grinder and then choosing a coffee maker.
