I am looking for your thoughts and suggestions on what size and shape picture to put above my couch. Let me explain my dilemma and share some info about my room.

In my living/family room, I have a 65” tv sitting on a tv console opposite my sofa. My sofa (77” long, 37” high”) sits against a wall directly across from the tv. There are two bunching tables (each a 20” x20”square, approximately 44” in length with separation between them) in front of the sofa which serve as the cocktail/coffee table. I have an end table with lamp on one side of the sofa and a tall book/display case on the other.

I want to put a picture over the couch but I am unsure what will appropriately balance the room. I first thought one large horizontal canvas, but it will be very similar in size and shape to the tv directly across from it. Then I thought to use two vertical canvases, but those will be similar to the two bunching tables. Finally I wondered if three pictures would work but that would be in line with the three cushions on the sofa.

My decor is contemporary, not a lot of color, and is a “less is more” feel. So I am not big on groupings of a lot of smaller pictures. My preference would be the one large picture or two together. Three is stretching it but I could do it if I have the right prints.

So does anyone have any idea which would be best in this scenario? Your thoughts and input is much appreciated!!
