Araucaria heterophylla - Norfolk Island pine.

And planted in a very unfortunate location! These get to be huge trees - as much as 150-200 feet tall - in suitable locations. Given adequate care, that tree will rapidly outgrow that siting!

planted about 10 feet too close to the house... at least ..

very common houseplant.. probably outgrew indoors... like they commonly do ...

in their native range.. this is their potential: https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffcm&q=Araucaria+heterophylla&iax=images&ia=images

i should probably change how close to the house to about 50 feet to close ..... lol ..

O, WOW! I really like shape of this tree and was hoping I found a small conifer 😀
Do compact conifers with similar shape that will grow in north Florida even exist?

Unless u see tall ones in your part of FL, it will dieback in colder winters. Never been there but believe I have read accounts of the "line" for this species being around Orlando.

It won't survive planted in the ground in N. Florida ..... yet. That line keeps moving north. Currently it is a zone 9 with light winter freezes. It will make a fine potted plant and living Christmas tree for N. Florida.

Compact conifers that will grow in N. Florida would be pine and juniper for the most part. An obscure pine cultivar might get you closest to the form of a Norfolk island Pine.

Thank you all.

Not that it really matters, but they're more than likely Cooke Island pines, A columnaris, rather than A.e. I've never seen what I thought was a Norfolk Island pine in central FL. I believe A.e. is a zone 10 species.
