I like the color of the berber, too. It complements the fireplace nicely and brightens the space. I don't think the gray area rug adds anything to the space.

The Berber is just very old and dirty so needs replacing. The ikea rug was a desperate attempt to keep my feet warm this winter 😆 not for aesthetic value. So maybe stick with another neutral light color berber..thanks for your input!

I think if the rest of the house is sort of 60s I would do a medium green. I find the beige color pinks out a bit with the knotty pine.

Ever considered a tartan plaid carpet? I’m putting that in my husbands TV room on the second floor of our home. He has maple judges paneling on the walls.

We have dark aged knotty pine v-groove walls and the light/pale/pastel yellow rug really brightens up the otherwise dark room. Tones well with our olive upholstered furniture.
