Need bedroom design advice

I'm really bad with design and picking out colors/furniture pieces that flow well together.

We have grey walls in our bedroom (Sherwin Williams, Touch of Grey) and we went with sand beige linen curtains for the big sliding door. We are also waiting for sand beige roller shades for the two smaller windows. The chandelier is chrome, the curtain rod is matte black. The floors are brown engineered hardwood with a grey undertone. See attached pictures. A designer helped me create a virtual layout which I've attached below, but she had grey curtains/shades instead.

I don't know how to proceed from here. Not sure what color bed/nightstands/dresser/rug to go with to make the rest of the room look cohesive. I want the room to stay light and airy, with natural/neutral tones. I don't want it to look all grey/all sand beige.

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated! Thank you!

IMO Yes, you have overdosed on neutrals here. Gray is a cool color, so that's why it doesn't work with warm beige. Paint the walls a different color. That will be a lot less expensive than changing your curtains and bedding. Color to go with?- off-white or brown if you want to stick with warm neutrals. Here are other warm colors: olive green, golden yellow, gold, orange, peach, tan. To get ideas, in top search box, put "beige bedroom on photos" (without the quotation marks). Your floors are a warm color. Stick with warm tones and colors in this room, so you will have a unified and cohesive look.

Not sure why you chose beige draperies when you had gray walls but I'm sure they were a large expense. The layout she gave you works. I would get a white upholstered headboard and rug. I like the black night tables and if you can find a rattan bench or blanket chest like suggested for the end of the bed that would help tie the beige draperies in. Look for bedding with both the gray & beige.

I felt that there was too much grey in the room and wanted to break it up with neutral colors. Here was the inspiration pic for the curtains... but the color combination didn't turn out quite as I expected.

Shop around for bedding as suggested above. If it doesn’t pull it all together, repaint the walls a creamy white.

The designer did a very nice job!!
I was going to suggest before I saw her design:
Neutral textured rug (she has that in there :)
    Black nightstands (also in there)
And really any bedframe should work.
    I like the bench.
Bedding id probably go white, fluffy, down, cozy. And add color through pillows and throws.
Maybe navy, black, brown leather ...

Gray and beige can work beautifully together in a neutral scheme. Your curtains will be just fine. You are just missing a lot of the elements needed to finish out your room: bed frame/headboard, nightstands (the ones you have are too small), art, lamps, a properly sized rug.

Not to be harsh, but your bed looks so sad. Get some nice crisp white bedding. The beige bedding blends right into the floor.

You need texture: wood, woven materials, linen, a nubby throw. Glass and metallic elements can provide some contrast as well.

Do you want to add another color or just stick with neutrals? What kind of look are you aiming for - modern, a touch boho?

Update! Here's what we did: returned the curtains and bought new ones in a very light grey/whitish color. Added black nightstands and cream colored lamps. Added black frames with nature pictures. Would love to hear feedback. What would you add or change? Thank you!

I would get a new decorator and choose either gray or tan. What a dull palette she created.

The updated picture you posted shows great improvement. Now there’s some contrast and interest.
