Hardy Hibiscus rebloom?

I have a Hardy Hibiscus that bloomed for a month from the end of July to about the 3rd week of August. So it's been finished blooming about 2 weeks. Today I noticed new buds and one about to open. I'd have to say that this is rebloom, but I'm not positive. Maybe it had unopened buds on it that are just now opening and I didn't notice? Either way, 2 weeks out of bloom to begin again - I'll take it. I'd have to credit all the rain we've had this year.

I'd say it was normal.... The ones we have have various bloom times begining in early-mid July. The earlies and middle bloomers are largely finished now - but there is the occasional new bud(s) that pop into colour/open up so we still have some colour from the hibiscuses a good part of this month. The important thing we do is keep the seed capsules deadheaded to prevent seeding around!

That's good to know. I have not had rebloom on mine in the past. This is the first time I've had a Hibiscus in all day sun though. My others were in 5-6hrs of sun. This particular Hibiscus has been in place 3 years and has not rebloomed the first two years there.

I'm thinking it's all the rain we had this year. I've never had a summer with so much rain. a number of plants are responding very well to that. For instance, I have 2 large Taxus shrubs that are over 10ft tall and been in place about 10 years. They have not produced more than a handful of berries in any one season, this year they are covered with berries. Unfortunately we have a new puppy in the family who I'm trying to keep safe and now there are berries on the ground and they are quite toxic. But - I digress. [g] I just believe that my garden rarely gets the amount of rain it needs to perform ideally and only this year, am I able to see the difference. I may be able to take a photo today of an open flower on the Hibiscus. Thank you. 😃

I've never noticed much rebloom, if any, on the hardly hibiscus I have. Hey, I guess enjoy it while you can!

A very sweet dog who was a year old yesterday. Can't believe my daughter has had her 10+ months already. It went by fast! This is Babs!

No open flower yet on the Hibiscus. [g]

mxk3 - Yes, Babs is a sweety. We have her again for a long weekend and she's sleeping peacefully again. Wore herself out racing along the fenceline with the dog next door, today. [g]

The Hibiscus is called 'Berry Awesome' has the nice dark foliage. It bloomed from about the last week of July thru the 3rd week of August and I thought it was done then a few days ago I noticed more buds on it. This is it's 3rd year in the garden and it didn't do that the first 2 seasons.
