We deal with severe groundwater on many projects. This is not an unusual situation.

A well point must set up near the structure. Generally we set 12" or 15" plastic culvert pipe near the pool. The bottom of the pipe is well below the deepest part of the pool. A pump is set inside much like a sump pump in a basement. So if the pool is 8' deep, the depth should be 9'-10'. It has to discharge away from the house and the pool.

If you have wrinkles in the shallow end, the water table is very high.

Some vinyl builders encounter water upon excavation and will sometimes run a pipe under the deep end base up to the deck height. A pump can be set up temporarily to pump water as the pool is finished. The pipe is then capped and cut off. Some leaver the pipe accessible under a diving board or at the back edge of the patio for future use.

Removing the patio at the deep is required. Because the concrete footer for the pool walls is 3' out, excavation would have to be at least 4' from the pool to prevent compromising the footer.

Your groundwater issue requires a permanent set up. Otherwise the liner will float again.

It sounds like a very expensive repair no matter which way we go. We love out pool very much, but there’s no way, when we are ready to sell, that we can sell our house with a pool in this condition!!
