Need advice with window sizing

Our kids rooms are 11’10 by 12’7 and bonus is 11’10 by 11’4. all with 9’10 ceilings. my question is should we do a 3 wide by 4 high window or a 4 wide by 5 high in each room? there will only be 1 window. thank you!

Can you provide a floor plan and exterior elevations?

People rarely complain about putting in windows that turned out to be too big, but you certainly hear people say they wished they had done more and/or bigger windows.

We did relatively large windows and in some rooms I wish I had gone even bigger, but we aren't done building yet, so I might feel different later. If the larger windows fit in the budget then I would choose those.

I expect to see a small single window in a tract house bedroom, but would hope that a custom home has a bit more thought and budget spent on window choices.

Your plan seems to have more problems than simply what size windows.

Maybe you could provide more details on the project?

There is a 70x26 concrete building that we are turning into a home. Where the bedrooms start to the garage is going to be an addition.. it’s on 2.5 acres of land in Florida.. I just took a shot of the addition to get some advice.. what are you seeing that is a problem?

There is a 70x26 concrete building that we are turning into a home.

Is the building just a shell, or is, for example, the kitchen and bath shown existing?

So here is the existing empty building.. we are working on plans for the building and addition.. the empty space on the far left will be master bed/bath.. the exterior door there will be blocked in. It is set up as an apartment right now.. the electrical panel is the only thing that we can’t move so we designated an electrical room for it.. so the existing garage is everything from the master to the kitchen and bath.. bedrooms/laundry/garage will all be an addition. I hope that makes sense. Any input would help. Thank you

The building is complete empty -- just a shell?

Yes, just a shell, the far left is an empty room on the plans is where the apartment is. Which will eventually turn into a master bed/bath.

For one, this is not a great viewpoint

Yes, we have plans to change the sink and toilet or possible put the door on the other side.. we just haven’t put it on there yet.

Bedrooms will be required to have at least one egress window. The type of window will be determined by the style of the house. I am not sure what you mean by "3 wide by 4 high window or a 4 wide by 5 high".

    Where is this house located?

It’s on 2.5 acres in Florida.. I’m just asking what size window we should put in the rooms.. with 9’10 ceilings I don’t want it to look to small but I don’t want to take up a huge area on the wall also. I’m just simply asking if we should put a 3x4 window in each room or would a 4x5 look better.

Windows also need to be sized in conjunction with the exterior.

Those in bedrooms 1 and 2 would have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom
