I'm looking for a tough, flowering perennial or shrub @ 3 feet tall to put on the north side of our house, @ 3 feet tall. Zone 6a. And we get lots of wind (think Kansas prairie!). Although it's the north side of the house, it still gets very hot, late afternoon sun. I have a few different kinds of hydrangeas there that do pretty well, but I'd like something else. The hostas I've put there really don't do very well. -I don't know if it's too sunny or if they just want more water than I can keep up with. This particular space is hard to water with a soaker hose (long story), like I can do in other spots. So I guess something for part-shade to part-sun that's not overly finicky about water and wind. And pretty. :) Suggestions? Thanks in advance.
