which bed should I use

A or B? Trying to see if I should keep the current black bed or purchase bed in second photo. Will be designing the room based on the decision. Will be doing new bed spread, window treatments, and decor.

Decide between white or black and keep you’re current bed. Do the black touch-ups or paint white. I like the white personally. Spend some of the cash you save on elegant bedding, lush, full curtains (hang higher). You have a great foundation just need to ample up the luxury.

Hi. It depends on what you like. I see you have some ideabooks. First. post photos of bedrooms you like here and in your ideabook.

Question: can you eliminate the footboard from your current bed? Reason I ask is that, in a medium-smaller room, a black bed with a footboard is going to overwhelm the room.

can we see the overall space?

what style is it you're after?

I think the bed in the second photo is a bit large (as is your own bed) for the size of the room.

the good thing about the white one is the footboard isn't there. you'll be able to see more of your bedding, and you could do a bench.

the t & a letters are too large in that spot. is there another wall in the bedroom where you could hang them?

It appears you like a lot of little items, so what do you think of this?

    little side tables w/small lamps

this is similar to the bed you've chosen. w/these tall headboards, you don't need anything on the wall above. notice all of the decor accents to go along w/this style.

another white bed w/headboard. I like the board/batten wall treatment behind the bed. and the soft aqua color is very soothing. beaded light fixture, some textured elements, nicer window blinds (look at Silouettes or Piroette blinds)

what about something like this? or do you want wood?

do you like either of these styles for your room?

this one is more of a natural wood w/casual bedding and decor elements

can you do a rug under the bed?

One other thing I have to recommend is losing those droopy drapes.

A cleaner look would be inset window blinds. (not mini blinds) Maybe some cellular blinds?

I think a cellular (top/bottom down/up) in a nice color, would be a great choice.

You could still have one sided drapes if you like.

see? just the outer side so it doesn't get bunched up next to the bed.

I decided on keeping my current bed. Not sure if I will paint it white or cover up the scratches. I previously painted the end tables white, due to the poor condition of them and thought I would end up paint the bed white. But not sure if I will. Or not yet.

The photo I post is a inspiration piece that I love love 💕 love. I have ordered a striped duvet similar to the photo and it should be on its way. As far as curtains not sure what to go with.

Also our room is pretty spacious as it was converted from a double garage into a master bedroom.

I like the current bed. I’d look into a mattress topper. Or maybe a higher box spring.
Plush blanket and lot of pillows.

Yes to new curtains - maybe crown molding with curtains under the molding.

I’d have the nightstands the same color you choose to go with the bed.

And yes to new decor - make it your own! Love the blue and white striped theme. Maybe some brown leather.
Lots of texture. New lamps. Blues and whites!! Have fun with it!!

You might want to consider reversing those initials.

I know @seagreen3 😂😂😂 I am probably going to just do away with them all together.

Yeh, I wasn't going to be the first to say anything about the initials. They need to disappear for several reasons.

Drapes should be hung high and I would hang them only on the outer sides of the windows.

Could we please see all 4 walls of the room? Thanks.

I think there is a HUGE difference in the beds. How tall are your sleepers? None of mine would fit in the black bed. Back in the day people were shorter and foot boards were not a comfort issues. Today all mine would not be able to straighten their legs in the black bed. I would not want to have to make that bed either.

I think the bed’s color is not as important as the feel you want in the entire room. A shame to buy a white bed if yours is fine and footboard is not an issue (as mentioned, touch up or even paint white/chalk paint). Instead I would spend the money on window treatments, lamps, bedding and accessories as they will have a much bigger influence.

If buying new, consider a different headboard for a change. Be sure to look at lots of inspiration pictures to help with your bed decision and accessorizing.

Since you decided to keep your current bed, have white nightstands, and already purchased a duvet we think you'll probably just need some added accents. Here we have included a few bedroom images from our design portfolio which might help you further. Please notice the rugs, pillows, window treatments, lamps, artwork, and mirrors.
