Unlacquered brass? You must like to polish things - which you will need to do at least weekly to keep the polished look.

PVD brass would be a better choice. PVD does not tarnish. Deltana sells a PVD polished brass cup pull. And I'm sure there are others.

Sounds gorgeous! We just ordered Corston unlaquered hardware from Britain for our island painted Benjamin Moore’s Dark Pewter, a deep green-gray. The pairing looks awesome if I do say so myself ☺️

@lynne3450, wow, beautiful. After seeing your photos, I took a look at their website. I think I might order from them! How did they do for customer service and speed of delivery? Did it cost a fortune for shipping? Thanks so much for the photos.

Kath— speed of delivery was unreal! So fast and professional! They seem to have tears of pricing for international deliveries, so I had made a spreadsheet of the hardware options I was interested in and took the shipping cost into account. When it was all said and done even including the shipping cost I felt like it was an affordable option. But I definitely wanted to make sure that I ordered enough quantity to make paying for the shipping worth it I think I paid $44 US for shipping.

Those pulls are gorgeous. Can you explain why the unlacquered brass? That is a new term for me. A link to the company would be great too.

Thank you so much, @lynne3450. I love antique brass, and actually have been drawn to it from the beginning. My sink faucet is unlacquered brass. I'm wondering if there's any reason I can't mix those finishes. The faucet kind of stands on it's own, and the cabinet hardware would be uniform, of course, but not the unlacquered brass. And actually, that would solve the problem of not wanting so much shiny brass in the kitchen. What is your opinion?

@kj s, well I'm not the great expert here. But basically it's simply not polished. Polishing will preserve the finish from the beginning. When unlacquered, a patina will develop over time, and therefore "character".

Kath— I’m doing same! Unlacquered brass on the smoky teal island and brushed/satin brass on the surrounding perimeter cabinets. I got samples of each and they seem to coordinate okay together, and with the champagne bronze Delta Trinsic faucet we’re using. I don’t think everything has to be matchy-matchy, just coordinate well together ☺️
