quadrupled the kitchen basically. might be not really very critical for resale to do this..... However if you want that back pantry space with door and laundry there I would make certain some of that counter run is open and allow for some seating . this will be more a flexspace. while you are entertaining ....kids can play video stuff for example. Or a person can do work on computer there for example. the peninsula seating I presume will be in addition to table seating which now has to go into great room area. So isn't the great room space actually shrinking? I'm not certain I would do this but for example if you all eat in chairs in front of tv and pop down at peninsula here and there then it might be ok. I dont know what you think about any table seating area for meals. Its not discussed or mentionned at all. Does the dining zone you have had seem wasted space for some reason...its been completely removed from your plan. I might try something like 20-30% larger galley kitchen..retain the dining zone in generally same spot and kick the laundry back to master ensuite. But good luck whatever becomes your endpoint on this.

The living area is 26 feet wide (master to kids room) and 25 feet long (window to peninsula), so I was hoping to put the dining area to the left (between peninsula and window) and the living area to the right, with a floating sectional and chairs and a tv on the kids rooms wall.
Regarding the seating space, the thought was to put 3 stools on the long side of the peninsula and 2 on the short one, of course these stools would have to be stored under the counter edge to allow for circulation when we are not sitting.
What do you think?

I'd be inclined to shove the pocket door over and I guess keep laundry in pantry if you want but you would shrink the pantry basically somewhat. I think thats a compromise so you can use long wall of kitchen for stove and fridge.. skip the side of the L [on foyer wall] and instead of peninsula place an island w sink. I dont see inches shown for these walls of kitchen and pantry. what was the length of your peninsula and walkway aisle dimension...etc???

I totally see what you mean with the island but unfortunately as this is a condo with strict rules, there is no way we can bring the drain into the floor, if we want to have it where the old dining used to be we MUST do the peninsula attached to that wall on the left, as that is where the draining column is for the building….
You are right that there are no measures in this plan, I should receive the detailed plan tomorrow and will post it here!

okay/ so can you lengthen the back long wall of kitchen ..adjust position of pocket door max out the long kitchen wall. can you cut back the short side of L of kitchen ...then keep the peninsula and make it longer actually if its going to be ...you will want to congregate there so make MORE of it. If you must run something on short side of L then reduce the depth...what is over there anyway??? and add another 12 in to peninsula length .....Also..the reversing of peninsula to come off shorter side of L [foyer wall] can have some perks. the work zone gets a "cockpit " like configuration which can be better esp w traffic to fridge and back into pantry with laundry being placed there......you are inviting traffic and might want it out of kitchen task zone.
