How can I retain the original color?

I apologize, I think I hit submit prior to completion.
We had installed, a black brushed ceramic tile for the ceiling and floor of our shower and a shiny black tile for three walls. The forth wall is glass doors. I have tried EVERYTHING to clean it including a steamer. Can the person who laid the tile buff the scum and stains off? The black was stunning when installed. Now....not so much. I'm not being impolite I REALLY want to know how to regain the beautiful surface it once was. Any suggestions?
