I believe that is fairly normal for an in-ground sprinkler system. It's not right, but a lot of people, including me, have the same issues. For now turn off the sprinkler system and let things dry out. Then either call someone to fix it or get out your shovel. Watch some YouTube videos on sprinkler head replacement before you decide to dig in. I used to fix sprinklers for my parents and some neighbors, but my joints don't work like they used to, so I'm calling someone to fix ours.

If pic 3 is within 1' to 4' of pic's 1 and 2 then the head is probably on what is called funny pipe and the most likely trouble is a cracked fitting on both ends. It means digging down at the head and following the funny pipe back to the fitting at the PVC pipe but replacing the fittings are a fairly simple matter.
