What would be better for a sweaty sleeper…all cottom sheets 400 thread count or a 525 thread count cotton53%/polyester47% blend?

i use use the all cotton 400 count and find them comfortable, i bought the 525 count for son but when i took them out of the package discivered they had a sheen and were abit differnt than mine. sane brand though, Sonoma from Kohls. Just not sure if these will help or cause sweating ot have any effect at all.

Cotton breathes, poly does not, so cotton would be preferable - but who knows what they treat some of those sheets with to create a sheen. I'd look for organic cotton sheets. Avoid memory foam mattress.

Agree-100% organic cotton or flax linen.

100% cotton sheets are great but there's more to the bed. What is your mattress pad? I only use cotton sheets, mattress pad has 100% cotton cover BUT the filling is poly of some kind and that holds body heat. And don't forget your pillow! I've yet to find a pillow that sleeps cool even with cotton cases and cotton protectors on a pillow with a cotton cover because the filling holds heat. :-/

DLM I have Natural Latex pillows that were recommended many years ago by Tibbrix when she participated here. I tried to buy a 2nd pillow but had trouble finding one of theirs that didn't have wool core, which my original did not. I emailed the company and they connected me with a place that sold the solid foam in the USA. I looked at Amazon and their listings are really goofy; one says the pillow is latex but the description says it's memory foam (which I doubt). I don't see anywhere that sells the solid foam without the wool core, but they claim the wool makes it even more temp regulating.

I searched for her original post about the brand and it's posted below (OMG I hate this site. I tried to add something to my post and it deleted the original post but posted the addition, then wouldn't let me edit it. I'm starting over but what a pain this place is.):

"Natura natural Latex Ultimate pillow. This pillow is just the right balance between
firm and soft. I have two, because I ordered the standard first, and
Canadian standard is smaller than American, then got a queen. I keep the
standard on my sofa. My neighbor's daughter put her head on it one day
and immediately mentioned how great the pillows, that she wanted one.
Her parents ended up giving her one for Christmas last year.
Can't even describe it. Firm enough that it holds your head, but soft
enough that it doesn't hurt your ears after lying on them for a while.
They're great. You can get them in some American mattress stores."

Actually Oly I have been looking at wool pillows - my DIL loves hers - so maybe the combination of foam and wool isn't such a far fetched idea! Thanks for digging for that post from Tibbrix. More to search.

We have shredded foam, natural latex pillows with a wool zip pillow cover and a wool mattress pad. They are made by Savvy Rest, where we purchased our last mattress set, also natural latex. The pillows aren't inexpensive, but do go on sale periodically. The pillows are overstuffed, but you can remove foam to achieve your desired thickness. I just went to their website and see they also sell Talalay natural latex fomed pillows as well as the Dunlap and Talalay natural latex shredded pillows. If you have a store nearby, you can see them in person.

DLM, I haven't tried the wool core version, it might be fine, but I LOVED my first pillow so much, I wanted another like it. Ended up that the 2nd one I bought (from another place, I think) was much less firm and was Talalay foam instead of the Dunlop that I preferred. It's ok, but I still love the original. However, my grandson has claimed that one...sigh.

Chiming in on Dunlop Latex Pillows - Foam Factory sells them. I've never bought a bed pillow from them, but have DryFast Foam for outdoor use.

Thanks, Allison. I looked at their Dunlop pillow and it has the perforations like Talalay. The Dunlop pillow I'm looking to find one like is not perforated, but is a solid piece of foam. Not too firm, but firmer than the perforated style. Some time ago, I bought a latex mattress topper that was supposed to be Dunlop, but it was also perforated and much softer than I expect Dunlop to be. It was difficult to manage for a king size bed, because the perforations caused it to tear easily. I'm stumped about trying to find a solid foam pillow, now that Dunlop is appearing exactly like the Talalay.
