Is there some reason to think that it is not just fall color starting to develop?

isnt it deciduous?? .. and mid october where ever you may be in new england ???

if not.. are they older interior leaves? .. how about a pic of the whole plant in situ .. rather than just 2 random leaves ...

there really isnt much to treat for this time of year in snow country ...

Thanks - no viburnum is evergreen. I don't think it is fall color, as viburnum are not known for that - it has not done it until this year at any rate. In RI - zone 6a - No leaves are throughout but not a lot of them. I will take leaf to nursery where I purchased it and see what they think. Thanks to both for thoughts.

I just dragged out the tag that came with the plant and it says "dark green foliage that turns maroon in the fall - great fall foliage color." Hmm. This has not shown maroon but yellow - I don't know if yellow turns to maroon but maybe...:-) I guess all the viburnums I have grown or have seen were just plain green. I sure hope this one is showing fall color. I'd much rather have that than disease. The variety is Carlcephalum Fragrant Viburnum. It is that!! Wonderful fragrance. Thanks - the learning just goes on and on.

My ”Mohawk” Viburnums (V. x burkwoodii) turn yellow like yours before transitioning to red and orange in early November. I think Babs was correct in the first place about this being a normal seasonal color change.

Perhaps you made this statement only with respect to your garden but there are plenty of evergreen viburnums
