Well, I may not be the best for advice since I am in the south but this is what I would do in your situation. I would use a clear solo cup and fill with either potting mix or 50/50 mix of potting mix and perlite. The coir may have salt in it and that would be bad for the cuttings. Then put that cup in red solo cup, with both having holes for drainage. See below.

The reason for the clear cup is so you can see if the roots are growing. The other cup keeps the roots in the dark, they do not like light.

You need to cut off all the leaves but leave the the buds next to the bark. You can light scrap the back of the bud area. That gives a place for the fig to root.

Again, scrap on side opposite where the bud is. Do not remove the bud or the cutting will not root.

If the cuttings buds out, you will need to move it under the lights. Hopefully roots will form and the cutting will not dry out. Only 3 things will happen. Cutting will dry out, or rot, or root. As long as it does not rot or dry out, it can still root. That can take several months sometimes, if the fig cutting is dormant. I had one that waited to bud out and root in June, when temperatures were in the 90's. Good luck.

Fig trees that have experienced several light frosts/freezes generally will have gone dormant. At that point you can root new plants from dormant wood cuttings. I suggest a soilless mix kept slightly damp and a heating pad placed under the pots. It normally takes at least a month to two months before there's a hint of vegetative growth.
