Doesn't seem a great mirror for the space and even less a great location for the mirror. From what I can see at least. : ) Too fancy for the space. Show the whole room, Perhaps just a mirror on the bedroom DOOR. PLAIN and simple.

I get you guys might like the fancy mirrors. I do. I wanted a very luxurious look in the room. That wall was the only place it could go unfortunately. It’s a small room. It’s a good point about where it’s hung based on the style. Maybe her intention was more for wall art. The room isn’t done yet, but I’d love to show pictures when it’s complete. We’re still waiting for cornice boards for the windows, the picture, and decorative items for the dresser.

I shall pray no offense, and I thik you are probably very much a traditionalist in a small and more mid seventies type of home.

However........your designer may not be helping you. Possibly too many "yes" words when the answer may be better as "no" .

Cornice boards at that window? With the mirror? uh..............no please. You are being led down a path...........not so great. You;d be far better off spending money on.......

Show the whole space, please??? Add pictures..we do not mind seeing the UN done. Add an "inspo" pic of your look too!

Agree with Jan - your ”designer” has no idea what she is doing.

I agree if you were my client I would have said no . It does not work as a full length mirror it is an accent mirror and for sure should not have been hung there . Sometimes the answer is no. If you want any more help you need to post pics of the whole bedroom but for sure that mirror needs to go if that is the only spot to hang it.

Ok, forget I asked anything. I’m not asking for critique of my design style, what I’ve chosen, or where it’s put. Jesus Christ, I’ve never seen a more rude bunch of people than these Houzz forums. Same thing happened when I was asking between two cabinet pulls. Didn’t like either, got lots of suggestions what I should get instead of picking between the two I posted. Horrible suggestions too. I asked a simple question. Leave the mirror hung higher or lower it. I don’t care if you don’t like the mirror. I don’t care if you don’t like where it’s hung. And I don’t care if you don’t like the rest of the room. That’s between me and my designer, and I didn’t ask for your input. I asked solely on the height of the mirror, and I’m appalled at the rudeness of the responses giving me input on everything except that.

I see no need to curse, really. A cornice on that window .AND the mirror? Well. Write back when done if you aren't happy, which I can rather guarantee. My advice? Ask the designer for an elevation of that wall. The final design, to scale, with the cornice board and your mirror.

I think you already have mirror above the bed. I would bring some softness in room with drapes on window, so it is not so bold. They would make more impact than mirror.

There's a million folks that will say it's fine, hang it higher, hang it lower, don't put it there, whatever, and it looks great. . You can certainly hear what you like to hear, and those with opinion are certainly free to post theirs. That is the internet.

Note, I did not ......curse. I am also plenty happy.

Have two people hold the mirror while you look in it. When you are happy with the foot/head space balance, that's where it should go. You may need to move it a bit farther away from the window to get your full view of self.

I woud not hassle with lowering the mirror.  If it was lowered ten inches, it seems there would be more space above than below which wouldn't look right either.  At most, lower it to be centered vertically but that woud probably be only a few inches and not worth the bother.

"I wanted to get other opinions on the height of the mirror and if I should insist on it being lowered, or if it’s better where it is and something I may just need to adjust to." I would wait till everything else is in and then decide whether you want to "adjust" to it or not.

And Marci - the thing is - you are asking designers for their opinions - no charge. If you don't like their suggestions, just ignore. I am always excited to see responses, whether they exactly pertain or not, because something might be suggested that never occurred to me. Makes for a better final project all around.
