Most of the quality lines I work with are between 12-20 weeks. I don't even think you can get cheap stock cabinets in less four weeks unless you get off-the-shelf from Home Depot? Production and shipping delays are lengthy right now no matter where you order. And consider this is holiday season, so expect things will take longer than average for the next couple of months.

If you want basic standard sizes, J&K (imported) or Ideal Cabinetry. You can get them in less than 4 weeks. You just have to find a dealer. Click links to go to the websites. When you say quality....that depends on your definition of quality, the home and the expectations of you and what is expected in your neighborhood. Would I put these in a high end home? No, except bathrooms and laundry. Would I put these in entry level and mid priced homes? Yes. As long as the layout was simple and didn't need custom. I should also probably say, I've seen many high end homes with entry level cabinetry. Again....expectations of the neighborhood are key.

I heard J&K were having supply issues a while back (like everyone else!). Are they back on track? Are most of their finishes in stock or just a few? I have designed for a couple of houses using J&K. They are...fine. Limited options, no customization. A good contractor can adapt some of their cabinets to look more custom.

I about to close on a house that needs a complete kitchen renovation and other work. While this is being done, I'll continue to live in my condo and make mortgage payments. I can't continue this situation for long. so I need to get cabinets, flooring, etc, as quickly as possible even though this will mean some compromises. my contractor is looking at Lowes and Home depot and Build.com also has some in stock cabs. thanks for comments.

This is a huge investment. Please consider moving in and waiting a year before remodeling the kitchen. The time spent living and working in the existing space will help you to better define what you really want and need for your new kitchen. You may ultimately feel disappointed in your compromises if you rush into it.

J&K shaker white is nice. They have a reversed raised panel in the middle not a 1/4" thin veneer panel.

There's a youtube video from a guy that had hurricane flood damage and he shows how well they faired compare to some other RTA cabinet brand with MDF doors in his house. You can see the reversed raised panels on the J&K when he opens the doors. 90% of what I sell is semi-custom (mid-grade) but I really like J&K cabinets for some jobs that are simple or needed quickly.

You are making a giant mistake to try to do anything of that scope ”before moving in”. You will be settling for quick poor quality, rather than good quality and longevity. You won’t have the educated eyes required to make this work. Quick and cheap is always poor quality.

Move in, and start planning in 6 months time. Youll get much better results.

As others have written, you are making a huge mistake if you attempt to renovate quickly so that you can move in.

When I moved into my condo I had to make decisions about what I could remodel. In my case it was finances since I didn't have the budget to do a complete kitchen or bath remodel - it didn't even enter my mind frankly at that point since the kitchen was ugly but functional.

I did what needed to be done because doing it after moving in would be almost impossible. I replaced the carpet with wood flooring. I painted everything. I limited the kitchen to replacing the mustard formica counters and replacing the sheet vinyl in a mustard pattern with vinyl checkerboard tiles (hey I was still on a budget) and that was it.

I recently gutted everything and had the luxury of time to plan and to wait for delivery of exactly what I wanted.

I'm going to take the advise here and get quality cabinets even though they may take longer to deliver. thanks

Kristin, In my market (OHIO), we haven't seen any supply issues with them. But we don't order from them a lot. Maybe one vanity or kitchen per month. Last one I ordered (8ft of vanities) was ready for pickup/delivery within two weeks.

Not every J&K dist. center offers the same door style offerings. Of course, all of them stock the white shaker and such...but they have their own lineups.

J&K will modify some. For instance, they'll do reduced depth and will also convert a cabinet for a farmsink. I've done this many times with J&K.
