thanks for your quick help. the color is lovely. the bathroom is busy place with different tiles so the pattern may be too much. i will explore the site and see whether they have it in solid. if not, i will make it work - cannot sacrifice the good searching for the perfect. thanks again, friend.

You might show the floor and the reason for "copper" ? In fact, post the bath in a picture added in comments

Copper is a metal you will never get a copper bath mat in fabric I sure want to know why in a busy space you would want some specific color of bath mat why not just match the towels .

Ahhh - brilliant! I was thinking about towels and only have white now. Am using a white bath mat which is never clean . The fixtures are oil rubbed bronze with a hint of copper coming through. Would love to highlight it - it would be magical to find towels as well. Thanks again for your elegant assessment!

You can't and don't need to match a textile to a metal. show the bath.......?

so pretty and vibrant. thank you so much for taking your time to send these to me.

Thanks Aphaea for directing me to society6 - great variety. I now need to reach out for help in the selection. I am attaching pics of my little bathroom and thanks for your advice on the best mat.

The lighting is poor and the tiles appear much darker . The upper part of frame is the closest. Here below are some of the mats I saw. Can you help with my choice? Thanks for your time and valued help!

hi jan. thank you so much for taking the time to help. there is indeed no logical explanation for the mix of palettes except that i am on a tight - make that very tight budget and hence the patchwork! i moved into a small apartment in a modest seniors complex.. i) tried to save by keeping the vanity - and not getting a new WHITE top - 2) the boxes of small square mosaic tiles were given to me -but only AFTER i had installed the chrome hardware - because it was cheapest metal choice. 3) thought that if i added some oil rubbed bronze outside the shower area i could bring it all together. i failed.

you have come to the rescue !!! the 2 mats you suggested certainly bring my mishmash of silver and copper together. who would have thought that possible! looked at the elite collection on amazon

and of course loved the idea of the hand towel display - although a little expensive. Do you think changing to top on the vanity- if that is possible- would help?

i was intrigued by your creativity so i looked at your previous projects. what grand homes - magnificent interiors. i am honored that you even gave my dilemma a passing glance. thank you . warmest regards. lyla

    @ Lyla M

I think a nice solid white top, and a great looking chrome faucet, 8 inch handle spread, would be fantastic.! You can probably get a match to the shower pretty easily. ORB finishes are hard to "glam" as they always feel a little country style..........are best with a match, or even matte black. It's just a dictatorial finish lol.

Another soap pump. Ebay, WEENY little details........can change the feel......a little less basic below

In the meantime, accessories will help get it together , and you are very welcome : )

    Enjoy your new home!

ordered the accessories - thanks for the reassurance. will now explore possibilities of switching out that counter top - hoping i will not have to buy a whole vanity. who knew that i could have so many obstacles furnishing a 1032 square foot living space. i would like it to be pretty and functional for my post retirement years. clearly i was not in the visual arts -poor me- i have no talent. . i have tried to repurpose some furniture for the guest room /office and have made quite a mess there too. i posted the photo on Houzz - imagine a configuration where only a child's chair can slide under desk. thanks for your guidance.

I was just too embarrassed! I never thought I was a public high school teacher and administrator for 40 years with many system challenges and student changes but was well enough educated and experienced to competently do my job. I now face a new set of challenges and lack the talent. Thanks so much for encouragement- it means a lot

Everyone does something, just not EVERY thing. I don't sing or play piano. Brain surgery is out. I do this. .................post the screw ups lol. .

Lesson learned here: ( since you were smart enough to do that 40 year endeavor ? ) Ask FIRST??!!

It's always better than when its done, and you have regrets. ........

You are so right. However, i do appreciate correction. Thanks for your wisdom and kindness warning- i may make you gasp!

This is a guest bedroom cum office cum study in the 1032square foot apartment. One wall has sliding doors, the entry door and closet. I tried to use furniture i had. One wall has the pull out sofa and a small side table. This photographed wall is for the armoire and file cabinet ( clothing for guests and office documents and supplies.) hopefully, i may host family members for a longer duration or several grandchildren at the same time.i then bought a desk on amazon - of course it was too low so it now has risers. the desk has those bars at the four corners so i cannot mover the file cabinet over more. I tried to assemble it again thinking i did something backwards -i did not. The problem is i need a chair that can fit into that space. hopefully with arms that can be lowered and raised. Where can i find this chair? Or any other recommendations are most welcome.

What is to the right of the desk? What is the item/items ( link ) to the Amazon purchase? Go back in your amazon account, under YOUR ORDERS. Click on the items, cut and paste the link to your info as we need below. Measure the other pieces. How wide is the armoire and why is it there, other than YOU have hogged the guest closet? : ) ?

What are the other pieces..couch etc.

Draw the room. get a big sturdy tape measure. Put in the windows, the closet the all the dimensions of each, Note the doorway entry/location and how wide. The length, width of walls.

Yes.......I am asking you to use your noggin,, help us to help you. That? You can do. You don't need a computer program. A piece of paper, a sketch and all the inches. Bold so we can see it, Take phone pic, and upload. Or better ? Scan it on the printer, "save" as a JPEG, and upload that.Add pics from all angles.

Here is an overview of apartment i hope to achieve a sleek modern style in the small space.
The guest closet holds a vacuum, broom, mop, and the electric hot water heater. The patio has been enclosed and i would like to put storage cabinets along the back wall like many neighbors . They have used the Ikea systems as the most affordable. There are many choices for doors and hardware and i would probably select the wrong ones! Measuring and drafting will proceed when I return from family thanksgiving.

THE DESK: It's 30 inches high according to dimensions, so not understanding why it needed risers, other than trying to jam a lateral file beneath and is not a great idea.

Separate the desk and filing functions.

It's a shame, despite this is Boca and a warm clime.......that so LITTLE thought goes into the design of so many senior facilities. No util closet, a tub with the large bath..........truly idiocy.

At any rate.........below. and get a decent desk chair. The walk to file won't kill you.

On the number two here? Reverse the armoire and lateral file, ........put a lamp on the file.

The desk isn't the real issue............the file IS. Personally, I'd not want to be staring at a wall to pay bills, write a note or pay a bill online or by any other snail mail method.

You are too kind. I am overwhelmed by your generosity of time and wisdom. I have studied the sketch. Thank you. Complex was built in 1980’s as a very inexpensive place. Prices are now higher but i was still able to purchase during COVID before the most recent rise. Residents have spent a lot of money on the interiors. I would like a pretty place also - but pensions don’t easily keep up with inflation. I would like to save the public area to have some “ glam” ( i overestimate myself) so no desk there. iI heeded your advice - used my “ noggin” - the lateral file will go on the patio- it is 32 x 29 . It is not a far walk. Risers will be removed.armoire - 32 x60 stays put. All the floors are porcelain tile (fake Carrera)to feel clean and spacious. All the walls are fog - I thought this would keep the space larger and more open. Should i go for a safe gray chair ? Something that looks expensive “designer” but is not with low back , lumbar support and maybe flip up arm rests - modern and light and to scale. Any suggestions for the “ look” without the price? Hidden treasures. I do not have a good “eye”.
So far i will purchase -bathroom accessories - white countertop- and a desk chair. In your drawing you placed a TV in the living room. How did you know i do not have one? I use my iPad. I also need one in the master bedroom. That makes 2 TVs.
Black Friday is the time to shop. However- I don’t know what size to purchase for each room. Of course, i would like a large TV - trends are gigantic but how big is too big for my apartment? What size for master bedroom -? For living room? I can research the electronic specs from reliable websites and even go to Costco. .I will face the blank wall for a while longer .
You are so right about the lack of utility closet - hope to include that in the IKEA unit for patio.
To think i was just looking for a rug and a junior size chair. Asking feels good when there is someone so lovely to listen. Thank you.
