new osmo coated countertop water-spots!

Supposed to protect but after just a day or so water

spots and glass rings showing!

That’s just what an oil finish does. Its totally the wrong choice for a protective coating for counters. Or cabinets. Or floors.

Sand it all off, and finish with mineral oil only if you will cut on it. If you will always use a cutting board and trivet, then use Milesi or Renner in a 5 sheen if you want it to look raw.

I am sorry to see you have water spots. I am just about to seal our butcher block counter on the island and have read about Osmo. Did you use the Osmo TopOil? If so, how many coats? Also, did you speak to the company about the marks? The website states that a number of liquids, including wine, beer, milk will bead up and can be wiped off. Any info appreciated! TIA
