Hi all,

We recently purchased a home and the backyard is filled with different variety of weeds if not all weeds with sand/dirt areas. We are attempting to lay new sod on our own and I have sprayed a weed and grass killer throughout what is there now. Is there any other steps or precautions that need to be taken before we till and put down new sod so we don't have the weeds coming back in the new sod. I've looked up the steps and everyone seems to have a different answer but our yard is over run by nutgrass and sandspurs, etc. We used roundup grass and weed killer but if you have better suggestions as it didn't kill everything.
