Hi popmama! Sorry to hear about some of your plants. What do you think may have happened to them?

These plants are strange, one day everything seems to be going great then suddenly it all goes south for some unknown reason. I too have had that happen and could never figure out out.

I always expect, when moving them inside, I'll lose some leaves, but I've lost entire plants at times. The only thing we can do is to go get more and continue trying right?😁

Glad to hear you're ok. I've been tied up with medical appointments lately, and am having same day surgery next Tuesday, so I haven't been on as much as I'd like, but I intend to fix that going forward.

I just wanted to check in on everyone to make sure our Hoya family are all good.

Popmama, what happened to them? I hope they recover fast for you. I hate that when a plant just declines for no reason at all. Usually it is root mealy or root rot with mines.

You must love going to that friends greenhouse. I use to love going to a friends of minesto his huge greenhouse ut all his plants got infested with bugs. That was the end of the visits with me. He keep wanting to give me plants, but I gladly rejected them.

Bill, how have you been these days? All I have left is to insulate my fig tree and cover my pond to stop it from freezing. Then I can just hunker down and wait for winter. I bur lapped most of my shrubs. I even took my Lilly pads out of above ground water containers and stuck them in my under ground ponds until spring. Everything I won is under lights now. I love it just strolling about them and seeing how happy everything is under bright lights. Even I like to sit under them, lol

The hoya a flowering up surprisingly and all my orchids are starting to bloom like crazy! One smell soooooo good, wafts the whole house up with sweetness.

My Ponderosa too is budding up, mu cutting and it does like to drink, crazy!!

I have to watch that one closley. I will snap pics soon)))

Mike, I have a branch of the ponderosa which is down low and comes straight out. Can I cut it and root it in water?

Bill, it depends on if it's soft wood or hard. You could root a newer cutting which I have. I love rooting citrus cuttings that flower even when rooting!! I have one now

So so it off, did it in rooting hormone and place in a cup of water? Could it be that simple?

My compacta and Bella are currently in bloom. The only other hoya with peduncles is a retusa- but I expect they will drop off, as always. I received a cute elliptica today from The Plant Farm- I swear to myself it is the last plant I will acquire until I move into a bigger space.

I took a vacation day from work and took a road trip to Logees from Massachusetts. This was my first visit there- back when I lived in CT I wasn’t into houseplants. I didn’t buy anything, but I was suitably impressed with their maze-like greenhouse and the ponderosa lemon!

The tree is 121 years old!

i use a heat mat this time of year and constantly keep peat or bulch moist

Hey all,

Hoyas and other house plants are doing quite well! As am I. Start my new job on Sunday (Kohl's), and we had Friendsgiving today here at Rainbow House (name of the house my roommates and I all share). I discovered Echter's, and their gorgeous plants. Bought a new Hoya pubicalyx there (not sure of the variety, but she's lovely).

I did lose the small Chouke cutting I bought off Etsy a month or so ago. Hung pusilla in a macrame hanger from a local grocery store (King Soopers). Watering, misting, and observing as I usually do. Probably holding off on some new plants until warmer weather arrives (that is, mail order, anyway).

Living life here in beautiful CO. We even had a coating of snow this evening!

Well I broke my own rule: I bought a Hoya, BUT it's one I've been wanting and Gardino's had it for a reasonable price. It's an easy one, they say. All the better. I bought H. cutis-porcelana. Such pretty flowers this one has.
