Best Polychromes of 2021

Post your prettiest polychromes here. Polychrome daylilies are those with an intermingling of two or more colors (not counting eyes or edges). The next category on Monday will be Eyes Without Edges.

Kentucky Lucky is a peach yellow polychrome. It's a great late bloomer that sometimes reblooms.


Techny Peace is another late-blooming polychrome that is yellow peach and pink mingled. I moved it two falls ago, and it really did well in its new place this year, finally multiplying well and reblooming on every fan.


Temporary and Eternal has not multiplied well for me.



Tall Blonde had not done well in a pot, mainly because the cats smash the emerging fans down every spring. The blooms were prettier this year than in the past. It's yellow with hints of orange, peach and pink.



Dance Again is a melon yellow polychrome.

    A busy and hectic life has kept me MIA last week and it’s hard to play catch up!! I am going to try to post a few here. Debra, I always love Kentucky Lucky-so pretty! And Sherry your bee pollen lily is striking.

    And this sweet noid which, as you can tell by its surroundings, lives in the jungle bed but always has such pretty blooms

      I only have a few polychrome daylilies, I wish I had better photos.


      I think Spectral Elegance is a polychrome. It’s a lovely early bloomer. it was the only daylily to rebloom for me last season.


      Sweet Autumn Mist was a bonus. It did well for it’s second full season here.


      This is my bee pollen daylily. Most blooms look like this. I’m not sure how to categorize it because an occasional bloom looks like this.




      Just added Forest God, it was new this spring and had a few blooms

      Debra: Dance Again is one of my favorites of yours. I like the form better then Kentucky Lucky in particular. Such sweet blooms with lots of ruffles...........Kate: You know your Substantial Evidence has intrigued me with it's big flat blooms and ever changing colors. Forest god is another one that's pretty. I like polychromes and my favorite is my Sour Puss but it took a big hit from the February arctic blast, and is trying to regrow. I hope it makes it...............Maryl

      David - I like all your polychrome seedlings! My favorite of the registered ones is So Beautiful to Me.

      Celeste - I think you win the prize for most polychromes. Such a lot of nice eye candy. My favorite of yours is Live Jazz, closely followed by Welcome Mat.

      My seedling which I call the Inimitable Seedling shows ivory, pink and peach tones, especially when temps are cool. Later in the season it mostly looks near white, except for a blush on the sepals. This one is in the pipeline to be registered when I get enough fans. It has a 7-inch bloom on 28 inch scapes with an average of 17 buds.

      Wow all of these are so light in color. Golden Globe is my favorite of all the above.

      One more, listed a Peach self but I see many more colors and I believe my best ruffled edge, "Polynesian Love Song"
