I found the below article by googling - it talks about the rose from Florida - the pic RVR has looks like a china rose to me, not a tea, and if you read this article that is what it implies. Have never grown it, but I love the old china roses.

Thank you! I have Louis Philippe from Rose Petals nursery, which is in Florida, so I suppose I already own a Louis Philippe from Florida...

I've read that Louis Philippe and Cramoisi Superieur are nearly identical and often mixed up. I also read somewhere that the east and west coasts have these reversed. So I was kind of wondering if what RVR (on the west coast) calls Louis Philippe from Florida is really what they see as Cramoisi S. and that's why they distinguish it from what they sell as LP. (If that makes sense.) But since they have both, it would seem like they would recognize it as one of those, so I was also wondering if it could be slightly different from both of their red chinas.

BUT I've also read that there are many red chinas out there, mostly similar but with slight differences. What RVR has does look like LP, so I suppose that's what it is....one of those very similar, slightly different red chinas.

The two are very similar, but in Florida (as well as in Texas), 'Louis Philippe' tends to grow taller than wide, and the flowers tend to be somewhat less neatly imbricate (camellia-like), with more tendency to produce white petaloids in the center. 'Cramoisi Superieur' tends to grow wider than tall, has, on average, more neatly imbricate flowers, which have somewhat less tendency to make the white "messy" petaloids in the center. People also say they smell different although I can't speak to that. If shown just one flower, I would not want to guarantee which one I'm looking at; but in our gardens, growing both over the years, it becomes pretty clear that they are not quite the same rose. Our 'Cramoisi Superieur' looks more like the flowers of 'Climbing Cramoisi Superieur', which is a seedling, not a climbing sport.

We got our LP from an old plant (over 70 years at the time, and that was 30+ years ago) in Lakeland, and our CS came from Bermuda, as 'Agrippina'. Our LP does seem to nicely match the Texas LP, which has a long history in that state.
