Pictures would help

This was the last time I moved it last year, it's probably grown by about 35-40% this year, maybe more. Moving it has become a pain. But I'm just curious in general. Might be good information to share. For the most part I just roll the big ones on their trays down a makeshift ramp and repot them in the driveway, but curious if anyone has found a better way.

2 meter Fukushu kumquat in a 30 gallon containner will need to be repotted next spring. I have a 55 gallon containner lined up for it.

What is the pot made of?

It is a plastic 55 gallon drum cut in half and I used the bottom 30 gallon half. The top half is 25 gallons pluss 2.5 gallon air space. The pot weighs around 5-10 pounds. Haha, I also cannot bring a crane inside my house. Hence why I plan to root prune and keep mine in the same pot. I do like the kiddie pool idea though...

It's almost December, I will worry about my humongous Citrus requiring transplanting in the Spring..., when I will roll them out of the garage on a dolly and do the dirty deed on the blacktop on a beautiful sunny day in early Spring. I will roll them over on their sides and use all my appendages to get it done.

So I thought I'd post an update and share since I just finished repotting my monster tree. Rather than try to muscle it outside I decided to take herman zimmerman's advice and try the kiddie pool idea, with a modification. (Though I forgot to take pictures). I got myself a 6x8 tarp, used hair ties and clips to pull up the sides and make myself a makeshift tub, then laid it out in front of the tree. I was able to roll the tree onto the tarp, then lift it down off the rolling stand onto the floor and tilt it. Took a bit to get it out of the pot, but I returned it to its pot on the stand and then wheeled it off the tarp when done. Easiest repot of one of these plants I've ever done.

Harbor freight tarps are perfect for this job!

Steve, I definitely wish I could do the in-ground plantings that you do with your bigger trees. It would be more convenient than trying to manhandle the big guys come repot time! If I ever get a chance, I want to try my hand at an in-ground style moveable greenhouse for at least a few trees. Maybe not all, I definitely like having some totally indoors living next to the couch. Makes picking fruit so much easier. Ha. But seeing some of yours definitely inspires me to want to give it a try.
