remove a few things from the table top.

The vases or more sideboard items than table, so I would remove all of them. I see tags on the silver pieces, so I would return anything you can return. The candelabra is too tall to be directly under the chandelier, and would be to one side with matching on the other.

Is that a tree in the top left corner? Try placing it on something taller in the room/in a corner.

I would find a large round decorative bowl or an oblong container with low light plants. A woven piece(s) wuold help soften the hardness of the table. The centerpiece goal should be this - if people are sitting around the table, eveyrone can see each other.

Agree with the other comments.  What color is your dinnerware and flatware?  Are you using place mats or not.  Is this for everyday dining or special occasion?

I probably won't be using any dinnerware. I don't have any.

Do you have art to go in the room? If not, why don't you start there. It will give you a direction to go with the table. Also, you cannot go wrong with solid white dinnerware.
