For something fancier the picture cut into the curved wall looks kinda cool. But if you don’t want to remodel that I think a curved wood bench and a little round table with flowers would be cool. Definitely be careful when picking out whites, some will make the floor look dirty with that color. I’d personally recommend a warmer white to blend with the floors.

I have similar tile, and I can't have anything near formal around it. In kitchen, I've liked apple green with Ikea pear canvas from years ago... a bit like the primary colors in your 'folding wood'... but if you show more of the house it'd help us.

I’ll show more pics but it’s going to be completely redone over time :) would love any and all ideas!!! I want a very neutral home with natural wood and earthy tones. Mix of Studio McGee, amber interiors etc. I was thinking simply white by BM for paint. What do you suggest?

In red room the brick is fake so that and the paneling will be coming down. As well as the electric fire and ac.

Hope you're not going to live here while you do the reno! Looks like a 70's era home with lots of items to be pulled out for a fresh start. Don't know how many rooms have decent drywall, but that's where I'd start. Easy to replace carpet and paint for a quick facelift to make it livable for you now. Is that a floor outlet in the red carpet room? Looks like a good possibility to float a sofa perp to the fireplace and use a sofa table with lamp(s) behind it. BEFORE you start on the cosmetics, make sure the HVAC, plumbing, roof and foundation are good. Does the interior brick match brick on the exterior? Can we see the outside too?

Other than painting I would not do much until you can replace the flooring. The wide variety of colors and style will not likely help you to achieve your desired look.

Interesting, in the foyer the home looks like it was going for a spanish style but the rest of the rooms do not at all. A lot of spanish architecture includes rounded foyer walls as well. Any vision for the overall design? I think spanish would look really cool! But would be a looot of work to get to in the other rooms

There’s also a rounded wall in upstairs hall/landing. It’s confused me too, definitely doesn’t match the rest. It is going to be a lot of work but because of the $$ it’s not going to happen all at once so yes we will be living there ^. We’re going to finish off one smaller bedroom and live in there while we do all the work.

Do you have some inspiration for this home? Pictures of what you would like the home to eventually look similar too?

I really like a mix of studio mcgee and amber interiors (designers) but will have to adapt since this house doesn’t have vaulted ceilings or completely open concept. I like light & neutral for fixed elements and natural textures, earthy colors for textiles. One of the first things we will be doing is ripping up all carpet (obviously 😅) and taking down wall between kitchen / dining room.

We’re going to start with little things as soon as we move in (few weeks). My bf is an electrician so he wants to do a lot of electric work first. I’m going to paint the paneling in the kitchen just because it’s nauseating and we’ll be using the kitchen even if it pains me to look at lol. The upstairs only needs the floors refinished & the bathroom done, the main floor will be the real challenge.

Lucky you to have one trade in your pocket . My advice stands do not waste a ton of energy and money on this at this time . I would of course start on the main floor since that needs the most work .Paint the panelling and then start planning.
