Thank God for all kinds of supplemental lighting for our plants for the darkest of days in winter. Even for our moods)

Are your plants doing well under lights this winter? How do they look?

Please. Let's see some pick me up pictures. And please let us know if your lights are working for you.

Here are a few of my trees and plants.

I will post them using my cell phone since this computer does not allow me too.

My lights are doing great. I replaced all my T12 lights a few years ago with T8 as LED lights were too expensive. Now that prices have come down on LED, I am replacing the T8 as bulbs or ballast burn out. I am running about 90 shop lights 12 hours a day using internet switches (TP-Link) in four rooms in the basement.

Ninety lights........NINETY?!

Not doubting you, I just want to make sure you mean ninety. (Ninety!). :D

And you have Episcias! *cries* I grew Episcias many years ago but haven't seen any for decades. There are a couple growers (literally----I've seen two in all of North America) that sell online. But only one is in Canada 🇨🇦 and they rarely have any. The other one's in the U.S.A. and getting a phytocertificate to ship cuttings to Canada is prohibitively expensive.

I don't understand why Episcias aren't grown by big, commercial growers. Yes, they're fussy, but no worse than certain other popular plants that you can buy in every store (I'm looking at you, Ficus Lyrata!).

Yes, around 90 shop lights, maybe more now. I will have to count again when I get back home. I have 3 rooms with almost 30 lights in each room and then a small room with 3 overhead but then it gets sunlight coming through the double steel utility doors with windows. Two rooms have to share the circuit between day time and night time schedules. Too many on at the same time, trips the circuit breaker. I cannot vacuum any room with the lights on so I must plug the vacuum into a room, turn off the lights in this room to use in another room. GRRR!

Those episcias, I bought locally but then I am sure they came from a wholesale nursery in Florida. The nursery I visit down in Orlando grows a lot of episcias on the ground under the benches - like a weed.
