I have a 750 square foot, 4.5 feet high crawl space area. This is a portion of my total footprint of 1700 sq feet. So I have about 1000 sq feet of liveable unfinished basement as well.

Basement has 3 forced air heating vents . 2 in crawl space area, and 1 in living area. Before I stripped basement, it also had baseboard heating in living area. No longer.

Basement and crawl space are now both fully foam insulated (walls to rim joists), and dirt crawl space floor has a 10 mil Vapor barrier. It’s dry as a bone. Very clean.

The crawl space is under the bedrooms.

Bedroom floors are still quite cold, even after getting rim joists foamed 2 weeks ago.

I currently have the 2 vents in crawl space area. I’ve set the dampers to half open. And the vent in living space is completely closed, to see if this makes a difference . Apparently not as the floors are cold pretty much all over my house .

The basement itself isn’t very cold. But it’s not warm that’s for sure . Should I simply warm up the living area to a proper temp , and this should regulate the whole below grade areas of the home?

I will also add the house is old and on ground floor, the exterior walls have sub par insulation. Could this be the actual cause if my cold floors, and the basement has nothing to do with it?
