Can knockdown-textured ceilings be repaired?

We had a water leak & now have 3 small (2x2) sections of our knockdown-textured ceiling that need to be repaired. Is is possible to patch this to match the remaining existing ceiling or do we need to have it scraped and re-spray the entire ceiling for it to look uniform? Thanks.

Knockdown can be hard to match but a skilled drywaller can do it call around for bids

Great, thank you! Are there any questions you suggest asking to properly evaluate if a given drywaller can truly handle it? And is there any particular experience or indicators that would tell me if when I find the right one?
